About The Role
We are recruiting for a Cloud Architect to join our Architecture Team in our Hereford Head Office, on the border of beautiful Welsh countryside. We offer hybrid working for this role with the opportunity to work from home 3 days per week.
 You will join the team responsible for shaping the direction of our Cloud-first strategy and providing governance over its implementation.
The successful candidate will have a good, hands-on understanding of cloud architectures and patterns, experience of Agile software delivery and DevOps, with a key focus on public cloud PaaS, cloud data storage and processing and cloud-based applications. 
Within this role you will:
Work as part of the Architecture team to define the Cloud standards, processes and governance procedures and overall platform technical direction
Operate as a Subject Matter Expert for Delivery and Operational teams, supporting in the introduction of new Cloud technologies and capabilities
Identify where new cloud approaches and techniques could be applied to the existing platforms and delivery approaches
Produce high- and low-level technical designs and work closely with delivery teams to see the designs through to implementation

About The Candidate
To be successful in this role you will ideally need:

Demonstrable background in defining, designing and delivering cloud first strategies and solutions
Knowledge and experience of cloud well architected frameworks and adoption principles
Azure certified solution architect accreditation (or similar certification on an equivalent public cloud platform)
An automation mindset with a good understanding of DevOps tools and practices
A good understanding of Infrastructure as Code and Software Defined NetworkingThis is an exciting opportunity to join an existing team of architects who are helping define a next generation payments platform.
