My client are looking to bring on board an experienced Warehouse Shift Manager based out of their site in Swindon, someone with strong leadership skills and committed to continuous improvement.
My client are a global 3PL provider, who are in need of an experienced Warehouse Shift Manager based in Swindon.
The key responsibilities of the Warehouse Shift Manager based in Swindon includes but is not limited to the following;
Lead the team to meet all Warehouse objectives and targets, while continuously improving Warehouse operations.
Participate in on-call weekends on a rotational basis.
Manage Receipt, Picking, and Dispatch teams.
Chair Warehouse team meetings and organise daily/weekly briefings to ensure direct reports and associates understand company expectations and targets.
Ensure compliance with work instructions, Health & Safety (H&S), and Safe Systems of Work, supported by the site Quality/Inventory Manager and Health & Safety Manager to promote a culture of safety.
Fully investigate all accidents/incidents and implement robust actions.
Monitor sickness and holiday absences, ensuring all are logged by the team. Ensure the Sickness Database is updated and absence reports are printed prior to Return to Work Interviews.
Ensure data input by the Admin Clerk is accurate and that the Electronic Time sheet is checked against manual time sheets and signed off.
Conduct annual appraisals and reviews for all direct reports, identify training needs, and implement training plans.
Understand financial and budgeting aspects of closed and open book accounts.
Implement Lean processes.
Promote continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operation, including environmental energy savings.
The successful candidate of the Warehouse Shift Manager position based in Swindon will have the following experience, skills and characteristics.
Vocational training and expertise, including Health and Safety and MHE.
Demonstrable experience as a Warehouse Shift Manager in a fast-paced, unionised environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent people management skills, with the ability to inspire, lead, and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and effectively convey ideas.
IT proficiency, including MS Word and Excel.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and capability to work at a strategic level.
Knowledge of the legal requirements for operating a Warehouse.
Willingness to work additional hours to meet role demands.
Qualification in Supply Chain Management, such as CILT or CPC, and Transport experience, or a willingness to achieve accreditation.
Experience within an automotive environment.
Confident in handling difficult conversations and committed to supporting the development of a positive culture on site.
Proven leadership skills, focused on building a collaborative and positive work environment.
