Pipelines Technician  

Salary starting from £42,354 dependent on qualifications and experience rising to £45,533 once fully competent in line with the competency pay matrix

Bonus + Incentives + Overtime + Van

Located at our Felnex Depot

We have an amazing opportunity for a Pipelines Technician to join our Network Maintenance team throughout our Yorkshire network.

Your role as a Pipeline Technician is to undertake plant protection activities on NGNs >2 pipe network and maintenance on NGN's cathodic protection systems and associated assets across the area. 

The role will also contribute to delivering the Annual Maintenance Plan across the Pipelines and wider Network Maintenance team.

Your key accountabilities and responsibilities will include

•Ensuring the decommissioning, installation, commissioning, validation, modification and repair work in accordance with appropriate policies, procedures and statutory requirements to produce optimum technical performance and reliability of equipment/systems in compliance with health, safety and environmental best practice

•You will prepare reports and provide information, guidance and advice to stakeholders and management and third party customers on technical matters

•Undertake or participate in plant inspection 

•Maintain accurate records of activities to satisfy Maintenance and Capital Projects, NGN, third party and legislative requirements

•Work towards all perimetry requirements and procedures affecting the NGN network

•Continually ensure a high standard of customer and stakeholder service at all times

What we are looking for

•    You will undertake maintenance activities on cathodic protection systems and repair and re-place components

•    You will have experience working in a gas network and an understanding of pipeline opera-tions

•    You will be responsible for attending and monitoring 3rd party and in house works in and around HP and IP pipelines

•    There must be the ability to plan work efficiently and you must be able to demonstrate comprehension of engineering principles and have an ability to apply learning across different engineering disciplines 

•    You will use IT in the field for work reporting

•    You must be comfortable with lone working out of hours and be a self-motivated individual capable of planning your own activities with strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills

•    You will have a proactive attitude and be a strong team player whilst also having the ability to work on your own initiative

•    Knowledge of codes of practice, engineering instructions and safety requirements

•    Hold a full UK driving licence
