The Networks Team Lead will manage a small team in a CISCO/Checkpoint environment covering design, documentation, implementation and BAU activities. Offering hybrid working with occasional travel to sites across the UK, ideally you will live locally to Chippenham with a willingness to travel when required.

Description

The Networks Team Lead will be working as a member of the network team as principal network engineer to lead design, documentation, implementation and support activities. And, providing effective line management of the network team, developing and mentoring direct reports, identifying skills and resource gap and efficiently managing and planning resource allocation in support of the companies operational BAU and project objectives.

Manage and lead a team of network professionals.
Oversee all network infrastructure projects within the company.
Design and implement short and long-term strategic plans to ensure network capacity meets existing and future requirements.
Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
Plan and implement network security, including building firewalls, managing host security, file permissions, backup and disaster recovery plans, and database security.
Manage operational costs; conduct near- and long-term financial forecasts for expanded functionality/user base.
Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration and appropriate use.Profile

A successful 'Networks Team Lead' should have:

ITILv3 or v4
Cisco CCNP certified or equivalent experience working with Voice, Data and Security Technologies
WAN and routing protocols - ADSL, MPLS, BGP, OSPF
Cisco IOS, Routers and switches (including VLANS, Trunking, QoS, spanning tree)
Cisco Meraki technologies (LAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, MX)
Network Management Systems
Protocols - TCP/IP, NLB, DNS, DHCP & SNMP
Check Point Firewalls
VPN Technologies - Site to and Site and Remote Access VPN
LAN Configuration/management and NAC
NAT and PAT
Team Leadership/management experience
Experienced in managing suppliers, support agencies and service providers
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience of working in project environments and delivering work packages
Proven ability to nurture and mentor staff
Able to conduct research into issues and products as required
Ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations
Keen attention to detail with ability to make sound and logical judgments
Strong customer service orientation
Ability to articulate technical ideas and concepts to non-technical colleagues
Excellent oral and written skills
Excellent interpersonal skills

A competitive salary, estimated to be between £60,000 to £70,000 per year.
A £6,000 car allowance or company car
Plus up to 15% annual bonus.
Hybrid Working with occasional travel when required.
