We are seeking a dedicated Housing Officer to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused, and responsive housing management service to residents. You will play a vital role in ensuring tenancy sustainment, managing estate issues, and fostering positive relationships within the community. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting residents, resolving disputes, and maintaining well-managed housing estates.
 
Key Responsibilities
·Manage a range of housing management functions, including tenancy sign-ups, viewings, and resident engagement.
·Conduct estate visits and inspections, ensuring high standards of property and community management.
·Develop strong working relationships with Tenants and Residents' Associations to promote engagement and community involvement.
·Handle nuisance and anti-social behaviour (ASB) cases, working with mediation partners and escalating cases where necessary.
·Provide effective responses to correspondence, complaints, and member enquiries, ensuring timely and professional communication.
·Identify and support vulnerable residents, signposting them to relevant support services.
·Act promptly on safeguarding concerns, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
·Collaborate with internal departments, external agencies, and stakeholders to deliver multi-agency responses to complex cases.
·Prepare and manage legal action for tenancy breaches, including possession and injunction proceedings.
·Represent the organisation at court hearings and evictions, maintaining a professional approach.
·Stay informed on relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in housing management.
 
About You
·Proven experience in housing management or a related field.
·Strong knowledge of housing law, tenancy agreements, and safeguarding responsibilities.
·Experience in handling anti-social behaviour, tenancy breaches, and dispute resolution.
·Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with residents, partners, and stakeholders.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting responses for complaints and member enquiries.
·Ability to work autonomously and manage a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment.
·Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, with a commitment to resident support and community wellbeing.
·Knowledge of relevant legislation and good practice in social housing.
