Cure Talent are thrilled to be working with a clean-tech organisation who have created the world’s first purpose-built battery and solar powered transport refrigeration unit (TRU). Which is a fully electric system, is true zero-emission and viable alternative to diesel power.

The Senior Design Engineer will lead the development of the core of this companies’ technology and undertake activities from concepting through to detailed design, system integration, build and certification.

Responsibilities:

* Generate new designs and concepts

* Play an integral part in the development process, produce CAD models, detail drawings, conduct analysis, tests and write reports.

* Optimise the design of components and systems using functional and analytical tools, including hand calculations and FEA where appropriate.

* Specify and source components.

* Develop, manage, and maintain technical documentation like Bills of Materials, DFMEA, Component Specifications and Technical Instructions.

* Support the assembly of the prototype products.

* Support customer deployments of the company’s refrigeration units.

* Follow 8D methodology to define, contain and investigate quality issues to implement changes as part of the company’s continuous improvement.

Required:

* Experience in either Automotive, Motorsport, Aerospace or Electrical Systems, complying with industry standards, safety processes and certification.

* Experience with various manufacturing processes and components (e.g. casting, machining, moulding, assembly, fabrications) and measurement techniques.

* A degree in mechanical, automotive, aerospace engineering or equivalent industry experience.

* Proven experience having delivered mechanical systems from concept to production.

* Excellent CAD skills using Solidworks – including part design, electrical integration, sheet metal design, fixtures and engineering drawings
