About the Role
As an Assistant Ecologist, you'll work alongside a team of experienced ecologists on a variety of projects across Sussex and beyond. Your role will involve assisting with ecological surveys, collecting and analysing data, and contributing to the preparation of ecological reports. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and gain hands-on experience in protected species surveys, habitat assessments, and ecological mitigation.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting fieldwork, including protected species surveys (e.g., bats, reptiles, amphibians) and habitat surveys
Data recording and analysis
Assisting with the preparation of technical reports and maps
Contributing to ecological assessments and mitigation plans
Collaborating with team members and clients to deliver high-quality work
What We're Looking For:
A degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related subject
A keen interest in British wildlife and conservation
Excellent communication and organisational skills
The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
A full UK driving licence (desirable)
Previous experience in ecological fieldwork (an advantage but not essential)
