The Cover Supervisor plays a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment in the absence of regular teaching staff. This position involves supervising classes, ensuring that students remain engaged and focused on their work, and providing support to students with diverse educational needs. The ideal candidate will possess experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, and will be adept at communicating effectively with both students and staff.

Duties
* Supervise and manage classroom activities in the absence of the regular teacher.
* Ensure that students follow instructions and complete assigned tasks.
* Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all students, including those with autism and other special educational needs.
* Assist in the implementation of lesson plans and provide additional support where necessary.
* Communicate effectively with students to encourage participation and engagement.
* Mentor and tutor students as needed, providing guidance on academic work.
* Monitor student behaviour and address any issues that arise in a constructive manner.
* Collaborate with teaching staff to share insights on student progress and behaviour.
Requirements
* Experience working with children in an educational or mentoring capacity is essential.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and staff.
* Ability to educate and inspire students through creative methods, including creative writing activities.
* Knowledge or experience in special education practices is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with strategies for working with individuals on the autism spectrum is advantageous.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to varying classroom situations.
