About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Community Services to provide customer focused housing service provision and deliver a day-to-day housing management service across supported accommodation across Birmingham. This includes working in partnership with both internal and external teams to be accountable for monitoring and managing the service.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering a high-quality front-line housing management service to vulnerable residents with a range of needs including Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Autism and Physical Disabilities. The focus of the role is to help the residents successfully maintain their tenancies whilst offering key support for vulnerable individuals through the processes of tenancy sign up, housing benefit claims and health and safety.

Key responsibilities

•    Daily monitoring of lease and service level agreements with partner agencies

•    Ensuring occupancy, rent collection and arrears targets are met through the lettings and refurbishments of properties

•    Providing practical housing assistance and information to customers when entering the service and throughout their involvement with the service

•    Adhering and assisting in the management of the schemes allocations procedure

•    Monitoring and meeting relevant health and safety standards in properties

•    Monitoring both the delivery of reactive repairs and planned maintenance across the properties, ensuring it is of a high standard and is cost effective

•    Promote and encourage a high level of customer involvement, consultation and communication relating to housing management policy formulation and service delivery

•    Undertaking day-to-day housing management duties, including the maintenance of high standards of cleanliness within services, preparation of rooms and site inspections
