Corporate Division: Delivering Category A and Cut and Carve projects.
Design & Build Division: Focusing on design-led commercial fit-outs.
Life Science Division: Specialising in the fit-out of laboratories.
Role Overview
As a Technical Services Manager, you will initially focus on preconstruction activities and, in the long term, take charge of delivering projects across your designated division. You will be taking ownership of the M&E in the preconstruction phase, from design through tendering and then the delivery ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Preconstruction Management: Collaborate with project teams to prepare detailed project specifications and technical proposals.
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance during the design and construction phases, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Team Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration between design, engineering, and construction teams.
- Client Liaison: Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors to ensure project alignment and success.
- Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to maintain high standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a Technical Services Manager, ideally within a contractor environment.
- Mechanical Bias: Strong mechanical background; experience in M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) is essential.
- Alternative Backgrounds: Consideration will be given to candidates from an M&E Quantity Surveying background or M&E consultancy, with design experience.
- Project Management Skills: Strong knowledge of project management principles and practices, with a focus on fit-out and refurbishment projects.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
