Job Title: Test Technician

Salary: £27,000 - £34,000

Shift Pattern: Mon - Thurs: 8AM-4:45PM, Fri 8AM – 12:30PM

We’re currently supporting our client who is a specialist in the design and manufacture of components designed for customers in aerospace, defence, space, and other markets.

This is an exciting role that will see the successful candidate working closely with the company’s manufacturing and engineering teams on a site-wide basis.

Please note that security clearance is needed for this role.

Responsibilities for the Test Technician:

* Verifying the performance of newly built products at the protype and fully realised stages (both on and off site).

* Keeping the equipment and calibration records used for testing up to date.

* Reviewing historical data stored either digitally or on paper for analyses and improvement process.

* Characterising a range of company products through detailed hands-on measurements to investigate product data and limitations.

* Analysing data from manufacturing processes and facility monitoring sensors, to use in implementing key monitoring and process improvements.

* Using your technical knowledge and skills to work in a laboratory environment.

* Set up and perform testing of product to company and customer documentation.

* To support area managers to achieve on-time deliveries.

* Collate and present tests results according to established procedures and to an appropriate standard.

* Review and analyse test results as necessary.

* Fault finding and diagnosing modes of failure to an appropriate level.

* To calibrate/arrange calibration of test equipment and to keep related records up to date.

* To review archived data on company product and the nuclear industry.

About You:

* A background with knowledge of radiation or detectors is beneficial but is not a necessity.

* A practical or experimental background would be preferred but is not required.

* Knowledge of handling and displaying data would assist the role.

* Good problem solving and team working skills is a must.

* Applicants with a curious mind and an appetite for hands-on problem solving would thrive in the role.

* Full driving licence

* This role will require the applicant to acquire SC clearance.
