About the Role

I am working with a rapidly expanding main contractor in South Wales that is looking to add an experienced Quantity Surveyor to their growing team. Specializing in new build social housing projects, they have a strong pipeline of work and are offering an exciting opportunity for a QS to develop their career within a thriving business.

This role will involve managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects across the region, ensuring cost control, procurement, and contract administration are effectively handled. With excellent long-term prospects, this is a great opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor with residential experience.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee all cost management and commercial aspects of new build social housing projects.

* Prepare and negotiate tenders, contracts, and procurement strategies.

* Conduct site visits and valuations to monitor project progress and financial performance.

* Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and contract administration.

* Provide cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts to support decision-making.

* Work closely with project teams to ensure financial and contractual risks are managed effectively.

* Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

What We’re Looking For:

* Experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the residential or social housing sector.

* Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and procurement.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

* A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field (HND, BSc, or equivalent).

* A full UK driving license (as site visits will be required).
