With plans in place to increase the company's offering to include manual grinding, we're now looking to hire a Manual Grinder to join the growing team at this specialist precision engineering firm.

Business is good and growing. Customer orders are strong with order books looking very healthy. The addition of manual grinding operations to support steadily increasing customer demand is an exciting development for the business and we're looking for someone with the skils and experience to take on the brand new Manual Grinder position which has been created.

About the job - Manual Grinder
'We're looking to take on a Manual Grinder to take up an important role in our machine shop where just a small group of skilled engineers carry out critical machining projects, producing high value, geometrically complex metal component parts to tight tolerances for customers operating in high-tech industry. 

Working on the premises of our well-established precision engineering business, your skills and experience as a Manual Grinder will be just what we’re looking for to fulfil an important role in the manufacturing of high quality, premium precision engineered components which are supplied to important customers across the globe.

This is no ordinary Manual Grinder job. If you are a Manual Grinder looking to use your skills to produce high-value, component parts, working with a very capable, encouraging group of skilled engineers, then this might be just the job for you.

Your duties will include amongst other things

Setting up and operating Jones and Shipman Manual Grinding machines
Carrying out a range of grinding operations to include surface grinding, cylindrical grinding and internal grinding
Checking the accuracy of your work against engineering drawings using conventional measuring equipment
Keeping your area clean and tidyYour job will see you producing precision engineered component parts from metals such as stainless steel, aluminium, and more exotic metals. You’ll join a small yet already well established and supportive team where you’ll be welcomed and given all the support you need to settle in and to get up to speed in your new job. This is a busy role which will suit you if you take a pride in your work and you like to produce very high quality products that you know will be used in leading technologies.

Essential requirement for this job: Manual Grinding experience - Jones and Shipman type or similar
Working hours: 37 hour working week, Day shift with a lunchtime finish every Friday.
Pay rate: We're looking to pay between £15 and £17 per hour depending on your skill level and experience. Please do get in touch to let us know your salary requirements.
