Permanent - £33,263 per annum

An experienced In Direct Buyer is wanted to join a major Sunderland employer on a permanent basis.

You'll be joining a team where you’ll be surrounded by a wealth of experience, this is a genuine opportunity to join a company with a great career development track record.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services not directly linked to production. They will negotiate with suppliers and manage supplier relationships, as well as identifying any cost saving opportunities.

Role & Responsibilities

* Selecting suitable vendors for a variety of indirect services including – IT, Marketing, Facilities and Travel

* Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers

* Conducting market research to identify new suppliers and negotiate pricing that is best for the business

* Implementing cost reduction strategies without it impacting service levels

* Collaborating with other departments to deliver the best procurement solutions

Knowledge & Experience

* Strong negotiation and communication skills.

* Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role

* Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., Proactis, SAP, Oracle).

* Knowledge of contract management and legal compliance.

* Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or Finance related field
