Experienced Boat Operator (Marine Inspections)
Location: Clyde River, Scotland
Employment Type: Full-Time (Permanent or Agency)
Security Clearance: Must hold or be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Boat Operator to join their team, operating a vessel to support full-time marine inspections. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the boat in and around jetty structures, enabling thorough inspections of our ongoing marine works.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate the company’s boat to facilitate ongoing marine inspections.
* Navigate safely in challenging environments, particularly around jetty structures and other marine infrastructure.
* Work closely with the inspection team to ensure they have safe and reliable access to all areas requiring inspection.
* Maintain a high standard of safety and operational readiness at all times.
* Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on the vessel, ensuring it remains in optimal working condition.
* Adhere to all maritime regulations, company policies, and safety protocols.
* Communicate effectively using VHF radio and other marine communication tools.
* Provide assistance in emergency situations, utilizing first aid and safety training as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
* RYA Powerboat Level 2 (minimum) with RYA Advanced Powerboat Certificate preferred.
* RYA Commercial Endorsement is highly desirable.
* MCA Boatmaster’s Licence or equivalent certification.
* STCW Basic Safety Training including Proficiency in Security Awareness.
* Significant experience operating boats in confined or complex environments, particularly around jetties and marine structures.
* Knowledge of marine inspection procedures is an advantage.
* VHF Radio License required.
* First Aid Certification is desirable.
* Must be a UK National and hold, or be able to obtain, UK Security Clearance.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Reliable, responsible, and able to manage the demands of full-time work on the water.
