Senior Photonics Design Engineer - South West England

Global technology company seeks a Senior Photonics Design Engineer to lead development of innovative fiber-optic products for industrial, aerospace & defense, and bio-photonics applications.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design cutting-edge optical/photonic components and systems

* Lead team development and performance management

* Drive product development strategy

* Collaborate on prototype builds and testing

* Present to internal and external stakeholders

Requirements:

* Degree in Engineering or Physics (PhD preferred)

* Extensive knowledge of fiber-optics and photonics

* Experience with optical design tools (e.g., Zemax)

* Strong problem-solving and communication skills

* Ability to work autonomously and meet tight deadlines

* Experience in satellite communications, industrial sensing, or biomedical imaging preferred
