Sports Assistant

We have a fantastic opportunity for an inspirational individual to work in the Sports Faculty as Sports Assistant to support the teaching of Physical Education and Games across all age groups from Junior School up to Sixth Form. The role will contribute to extracurricular activities within the faculty.

Working hours would be flexible across the week with a half-termly schedule agreed in advance. This might typically include 3 or 4 weekday afternoons or mornings, and a number of Saturday morning fixtures.

You will be able to coach at least one of the following at a high level – Hockey, Netball, Football, Cricket and Athletics. The ability to lead on Dance provision across the school is essential, with an appropriate qualification for teaching Dance, or willingness to attain this.

You will add to the profile of sport at school, demonstrating enthusiasm and energy and inspiring participation at this exciting time in the development of sport at Northampton High School. The Sports Assistant will work across both the Junior and Senior Schools, working closely with the Sport Faculty and other sports coaches, primarily assisting them in coaching, team management and umpiring, as well as supporting teachers in PE.

It is essential that you have a coaching qualification in at least one of the major sports as listed above and a full driving licence with willingness to drive school MPV to fixtures.
