Senior Quantity Surveyor – Cladding Remediation

Role Requirements

* Produce cost plans for New Build Residential and Mixed-Use Projects (RIBA Stages 0-5)

* Client liaison, attending design team meetings

* Handle client-side valuations, certification, and evaluation of changes

* Review and analyse Main Contractors’ tender submissions

* Perform cost exercises for clients, including Value Engineering

* Maintain an up-to-date cost database

* Focus on residential projects and fire remediation work

Key Skills & Experience

* Experience with high-rise cladding replacement and contractor negotiations

* Prepare cost/benefit analysis of design options

* Ensure all costs are tracked and validated; open-book evaluation

* Produce accurate and competitive cost estimates for clients

* Compare costs and assist in Main Contractor selection

* Manage cost control and prepare periodic financial reconciliations, reports, and forecasts

* Respond to commercial and contractual disputes, claims (including loss and expense, final account, changes, and cost value reconciliation review)

* Understanding of JCT Design & Build Contracts

* Negotiate with contractors

* Review pricing documents against programme and cashflow

Technical Skills

* Proficient in Excel, Word, MS Teams

* Measurement of drawings using Cost X/Bluebeam Software

* Understanding of Affordable Housing, Building Practices, and Costs

* Knowledge of BSF/CSS Fund requirements
