On behalf of our client who is situated in the heart of Worcestershire, providing Engineering assistances and solutions to many exciting sectors.
Due to increased demand within the department, our client now has a requirement for a Paint Shop Manager.
Job description:
To manage and oversee the activities throughout the paint department.
DIMENSIONS:
* Ability to Project manage.
* Overseeing the scheduling of all the work through the department, ensuring all schedules are lean and efficient, with internal processes adhered to.
* Responsible for the daily performance of the Paint department, ensuring the department is achieving KPIs and managing operational resource correctly.
* Control labour requirements.
* Recruit, develop, and appraise team members, setting annual targets.
* Manage paint and consumable inventory.
* Plan future capacity and execute burn down plans as needed.
* Offer technical support on painting, prepping, masking, and de-masking.
* Communicate and feedback within your team.
* Ensure all staff have the required competence to undertake their roles, and that they are working to the same standards, providing the necessary training where appropriate.
* Ensure all records are kept up to date.
* Liaise with relevant managers and other colleagues on customer queries.
* Adhere to Health and Safety regulations, ensuring that all staff are complying to the relevant Health & Safety protocol.
* Motivate your team to deliver outstanding results.
* Drive continuous improvement throughout the paint department.
* Ensure all items from the paint department are quality checked prior to dispatch – identify defects and resolve quality issues where possible.
* Can hand spray products to a high quality and willing to work on spraying tasks as and when required.
* Deliver daily team meetings and report to senior management on key issues.
* To ensure the paint shop can deliver the volume requirements of the business in a fast and efficient way whilst ensuring customer service requirements are met.
* Ensuring costs are controlled effectively, whilst delivering a high level of service.
* Monitor and manage team performance and identify areas for improvement.
* Carry out formal investigations as and when required, in line with the company’s procedures.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation.
* Deal with first line people management issues timely and appropriately.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Desirable:
Have completed GCSEs/S grades or an equivalent qualification.
Has gained practical knowledge and skills related to paint materials, techniques, and shop management.
National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) or Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) in various aspects of paint spraying and management.
Apprenticeship in manufacturing.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
Experience with paint spraying and powder coating.
Experienced in managing projects.
Understands all applications and paint specifications.
Safety and workplace awareness.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a managerial role.
Experience of working in a busy workshop.
Ability to effectively manage and monitor service level performance using KPIs.
Ability to use MS Office Applications.
Desirable:
Be conversant with relevant standards and legislation, e.g., latest “edition wiring regulations”, and be prepared to continue with relevant training, to remain compliant to applicable mandatory standards.

PACKAGE:
Monday – Friday (subject to change depending on business requirements)
Core Hours 07:45 – 17:00 Monday – Thursday and 07:45 – 13:00 on a Friday.
39 hours of work per week. You may be expected to work any additional hours depending on business requirements.
