Our Public Sector Client is looking for a Planning Technician to assist in the work with HM Land Registry to standardise and migrate the local land charges register information to one accessible place.
Main Activities (Corporate)
* Be committed to the Council’s Vision and carry out work within the spirit and intention of its core values.
* To maintain an awareness of, and comply with, the service standards, performance and quality management arrangement of the service and meet personal targets as a contribution to their achievements.
* To foster an innovative and open environment within Development Control where employees feel supported, involved and consulted.
* To show flexibility in responding to change and to make use of the technology available to deliver the requirements of the land charges project.
* To carry out all the work within the spirit and intention of equal opportunities and customer care, recognising and valuing diversity in the community and workplace and promoting the same.
* To work in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and related Council policies and procedures.
* To undertake personal development commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the job.
Main Activities (Service Related)
* Every local authority in England and Wales, with the exception of county councils, is required to hold a local land charges register that records obligations affecting properties within their administrative area. HM Land Registry is working in partnership with local authorities in England and Wales to standardise and migrate local land charges register information to one accessible place. Each charge should be accompanied by sufficient information to enable the digitisation and transformation to create an accurate spatial extent for the charge. The Council has a large number of charges that require spatial capture and the need to confirm the charges are still valid.
* Review and identify local land charges and update the national register. This will involve in depth use of Council software, the Council’s proprietary archiving software, Microsoft Excel and the national land charges register.
