Senior Practitioner – Looked After Children
Salary: £50,574 - £53,607 per annum
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent (36 hours per week)

About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Practitioner to join our Looked After Children team. If you're passionate about improving the lives of children and young people in care, this is the perfect role for you. You will work closely with children and families to ensure the safety, stability, and well-being of young people in care, driving positive outcomes through compassionate and consistent engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
Taking the lead on Corporate Parent Responsibility, ensuring care plans address the holistic needs of children and young people.
Engaging in safeguarding and child protection work, conducting assessments, and supporting permanency plans through adoption, special guardianship, or long-term foster care.
Preparing reports for court and providing evidence to support the Local Authority in legal proceedings.
Collaborating with families, statutory agencies, and third-sector organizations to deliver a high-quality service.
About You
As a Senior Practitioner, you will:
Conduct timely and effective assessments to manage risk and need, ensuring protective services for children in care.
Work closely with families and external agencies to create and implement care plans.
Maintain a manageable caseload, producing high-quality reports and preparing court statements to support permanency plans.
Stay informed about legislation and best practices in child welfare and safeguarding.
Contribute to team development and the overall success of the service.
