SHEQ Manager – Power Cable Routing & Civil/Groundworks

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced SHEQ Manager to lead Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) compliance across our civil engineering and power infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in power cable routing, civil engineering, and groundworks, who is passionate about maintaining high safety standards and driving a positive safety culture.
As a key member of the team, you will ensure that all projects comply with health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations, while implementing best practices to reduce risks and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and manage SHEQ policies, procedures, and systems across all projects.
* Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, CDM regulations, and company standards.
* Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
* Provide training, coaching, and toolbox talks to site teams on SHEQ best practices.
* Investigate and report incidents, near misses, and non-compliance issues, implementing corrective actions.
* Work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure SHEQ requirements are met.
* Lead internal and external audits to maintain ISO and industry accreditations.
* Promote a strong safety culture, identifying areas for improvement and implementing innovative solutions.
Requirements
✔️ NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (IOSH/CMIOSH preferred).
✔️ Experience in power cable routing, civil engineering, or groundworks is essential.
✔️ Strong knowledge of CDM regulations, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
✔️ Proven experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and site inspections.
✔️ Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
✔️ Full UK driving license (ability to travel to sites when required).
