Role and Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple UK group companies
Overseeing monthly payroll for 60+ employees, including pension administration
Managing an Accounts Administrator, overseeing sales and purchase ledger activities and supplier payment runs
Delivering regular financial reporting, including KPIs, cash flow management, and business analytics
Conducting bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and ad hoc financial reporting
Submitting quarterly VAT returns and assisting in annual budget preparation and financial forecasting
Implementing effective cash flow management and reporting
Establishing and maintaining accounting controls, systems, and processes
Assisting with stock control, customs queries, and process improvements
Examining financial reports to ensure accurate record-keeping
Leading annual audit preparations and producing statutory accounts in collaboration with external accountants
Preparing R&D tax claims
Acting as the main point of contact for banking and financial compliance matters
Collaborating with the management team to drive efficiencies and financial improvements
Required Skills and Experience:
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial operations, such as Finance Officer, Financial Controller, or similar roles
Strong understanding of core accounting processes, data analysis, and forecasting methods
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence
Advanced Excel proficiency
Experience within a manufacturing/industrial environment
Experienced user of Sage or similar
