Our client based close to Bedford is recruiting for an Engineering Buyer to join the Purchasing team. This role will play a big part in driving procurement activity across the business.

You will support the department with the implementation of new strategies, policies and procedures.

Duties will include:

* Supporting the procurement team in the purchasing of all materials

* Requesting quotations

* Leading negotiations

* Leading technical review meetings

* Supporting and working closely with Engineering and Design departments on new projects and new concepts

* Supporting commercial team with cost calculations

* Improving department processes

Experience skills/required:

* Proven purchasing experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment

* Understanding of engineering drawings

* A basic understanding of the manufacturing processes

* Excellent IT skills

* Experience in ERP/MRP systems

* Full clean driving license

* Excellent communication skills

* Team player

Hours of work:

* Monday - Thursday 08.00am - 4.30pm 08.00 - 1pm Friday
