We are currently working with an Outstanding school in Leeds who are looking for a Secondary Pastoral Mentor, initially on a temporary basis but has the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

About the Role:
As a Pastoral Mentor, you will be a key figure in promoting the personal growth, well-being, and progress of students in Leeds. You’ll work closely with staff, students, and parents to provide essential guidance and support, ensuring each student feels valued and understood. Through tailored mentoring, intervention sessions, and pastoral care, you will help students navigate both academic and personal challenges, empowering them to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

* Student Engagement & Well-being: Liaise with staff, professionals, and parents to support student engagement, attendance, and emotional well-being.

* Mentorship & Guidance: Provide one-to-one and group mentoring, offering guidance on educational and social matters to help students manage their personal development.

* Support & Care: Offer personal care and physical support to students as needed, managing a caseload and preparing relevant resources.

* Positive Behaviour Management: Promote and maintain discipline in accordance with the academy's behaviour policy, creating a supportive and structured learning environment.

* Collaborative Approach: Work closely with class teachers to share students' learning progress and ensure their individual needs are met.

* Family Support & Mountain Rescue: Manage the range of facilities offered through the school's Mountain Rescue programme to support both students and their families.

* Intervention & Nurture Sessions: Plan and lead intervention and nurture sessions designed to address specific needs and help students succeed academically and personally.

* Key Worker Coordination: Take responsibility for managing a key worker role, ensuring consistent support for students across all areas of their school life.

* Safeguarding and Well-being: Ensure the safeguarding of all students by following academy procedures and reporting concerns to the designated safeguarding lead.

* Home Visits & Family Engagement: Lead home visits as required to strengthen relationships between the academy, students, and their families.

* First Aid & Medical Support: Provide first aid and assist students with medical needs, ensuring all records and first aid boxes are kept up to date.
