About the Role:

An established M&E Contractor based in Blackburn is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Estimator to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for compiling mechanical or electrical estimates that are accurate, comprehensive, and competitive, with the ultimate goal of securing contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

* Identify and pursue tender enquiry opportunities.

* Prepare and submit estimates with the aim of winning contracts.

* Utilise estimating and relevant technical software efficiently.

* Perform take-offs from drawings and input data into estimates to generate bills of quantities as required.

* Liaise with the Buyer regarding plant enquiries, materials, and subcontractor quotations.

* Provide general estimating support and administration, including copying drawings/specifications and distributing information.

* Conduct site visits or surveys to gather additional information.

* Ensure that all estimates adhere to Health and Safety regulations.

* Comply with the company’s Management System requirements (ISO45001, ISO9001, and ISO14001) when compiling tenders and managing documents.

* Assist with project accounting and management of variations.

* Produce supporting drawings and develop Operation and Maintenance Manuals.

* Participate in tender interviews when required.

Additional Responsibilities:

* Support Engineers and Project Managers in contract delivery.

* Assist with designs as needed.

* Engage in training, development, and workforce consultation activities.

* Perform other duties as required in a dynamic contracting environment.

Person Specification:

* Qualifications in a mechanical, electrical, or estimating/engineering discipline.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* High proficiency in estimating software and MS Office packages, especially Excel, Word, and Project.

* A flexible approach to work, with the ability to work occasionally out-of-hours and travel as necessary.
