Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

The Role:
We’re looking for a hands-on Accounts Assistant to join our internal team and support the finance function. You’ll be involved in everything from payroll processing and credit control to purchase ledger and general admin. This is a varied, busy role that suits someone who’s confident with systems, can meet deadlines, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.
Key Responsibilities:
* Process weekly and monthly payroll for temporary and permanent staff
* Handle purchase ledger including invoice processing, reconciliations, and supplier payments
* Chase outstanding payments and manage credit control
* Assist with bank reconciliations and posting journals
* Maintain accurate financial records using Sage and Excel
* Support month-end processes and reporting
* General office admin related to accounts and payroll
What We’re Looking For:
* Solid experience in a similar accounts role
* Strong working knowledge of Sage and Excel (you’ll be using both daily)
* Understanding of payroll processes — ideally with experience in recruitment or temp payroll
* Good attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks
* A proactive attitude and willingness to get stuck in
* Strong communication skills — written and verbal
