Seeking a person interested in working in the recycling and environmental sustainability industry. This position is responsible for Supervising and coordinating the transport planning team to ensure excellent customer service is delivered, whilst managing fleet P&L costings and achieving cost. Working in Daventry, the successful candidate will be part of a team and work under the supervision of a knowledgeable and supportive

Key Responsibilities

* Responsible for managing a team of drivers

* Ensure any disciplinary action is carried out, supported by HR, following company procedure

* Produce and implement KPI’s for cost, quality, service, absence

* Understand and review monthly transport P&L accounts

* Suggest and implement improvements to reduce fleet costs

* Maximize vehicle utilisation & availability

* Ensure compliance of all drivers and team members with relevant policies and legislation

* Ensure the operation is fully compliant with company tachograph policy

* Ensure the department operates within the legal constraints of the site operators’ license

* Ensure department complies with health and safety legislation

* Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation consistently meets the requirements of all individual customer contracts

* Proactively plan and monitor resources, identifying any shortfalls/overs and reacting accordingly

* Perform such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require

* Comply with all Company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety and Community

Key Skills/Competencies

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Experience in working in a unionised industry desirable.

* In depth experience in transport operations with full knowledge of transport legislation

* Knowledge and understanding of transport KPI’s with understanding of financial management/performance of the department

* CPC National holder preferable

* Excellent ICT skills

* Ability to develop a team ensuring they are well informed and well-motivated to achieve their personal goals as well as their operational KPI’s
