We are looking for a Production Planner to join our team in the manufacturing sector. This fixed-term role for 6 months comes with the opportunity to transition into a permanent position, offering fantastic benefits and growth potential.
As a Production Planner, you will act as the central point of contact for external site operations, supporting direct customers, regional sales teams, and logistics partners. Reporting to the Planning Team Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring seamless operational delivery, driving customer service excellence, and aligning with our “Get it right first time” approach.
You’ll work in a collaborative, open-plan office alongside 35 staff, including a team of 5 other Production Planners, traders, logistics professionals, and admin support. Once training is completed, you’ll have the potential to work from home on Fridays on a rota basis.
Production and Logistics Coordination:
Plan and prioritise customer and supplier requirements to ensure timely delivery.
Monitor product supply and demand to maintain adequate stock levels.
Schedule and coordinate deliveries with hauliers and distribution sites.
Customer and Supplier Interaction:
Build strong, beneficial relationships with customers and suppliers.
Address customer complaints, inquiries, and pricing needs using provided pricing lists.
Serve as the central contact for customer production sites, providing professional query resolution.
Contract and System Management:
Enter and manage sales and purchase contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Maintain up-to-date contract information to minimise errors and inefficiencies.
Update trading boards with production forecasts and manage changes effectively.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
Support the Sales Coordination Team with proactive communication and task management.
Share responsibilities for managing the planning email inbox and escalations.
Provide holiday cover and ad-hoc support to the planning team as needed.
Continuous Improvement:
Produce weekly KPI reports to track performance and support operational improvements.
Work autonomously with a solution-oriented mindset to address challenges effectively.
Experience and Skills:
Minimum 3 years in production planning, logistics, or a similar role.
Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
Proficiency in SAP, SIS systems, Excel, and Word.
Interpersonal Abilities:
Confident and professional phone manner with a willingness to engage directly with customers.
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with personnel at all levels.

Resilient, adaptable, and proactive with a solution-driven mindset.
Analytical and financially aware, with an ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
Salary: £28,500 per annum.
Holidays: 27 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
Flexibility: Potential to work from home on Fridays on a rota basis after training.
