EC&I Technician

Kingston Barnes is pleased to be recruiting an experienced EC&I Technician for one of our clients in the Glasgow area. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all the EC&I equipment on site. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an established company within a rapidly growing industry.

The Role: You will be responsible for the pre-planned and reactive maintenance activities of all the EC&I equipment at the site, whilst providing support to other disciplines as necessary using your existing experience and skills. Ensuring that maintenance plans and targets are achieved safely, economically and within the environmental limits of the plant, you will carry out fault diagnostics and rectify issues as required, manage calibration records and implement instrument calibrations.

* EC&I maintenance of process/manufacturing industry.

* Calibration and fault finding of plant items

* Working with Computerised Maintenance Management systems

* DCS/SCADA experience

There is a 1-in-4-week call-out rota in which engineers will be required to take part. You are supplemented for this and will earn additional overtime.

The Candidate: The ideal candidate will have come up the EC&I route with some maintenance experience. However, they could consider maintenance engineers with experience in Electrical Control and Instrumentation. Other requirements are:

* Appropriate technical qualifications i.e. City & Guilds/NVQ 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.

* CMMS experience

* An awareness of environmental and health and safety issues and their impacts

* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels, both verbally and in writing

* Fully conversant with instrument loop drawing and P&IDs

* Excellent proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills

* Full UK Driving Licence
