Sue Ross Recruitment are working with an international engineering company in the recruitment of a Part time Finance Assistant.
As a finance assistant you will contribute to and take ownership of the day-to-day processing and administration of the finance department. Ensuring that accounting records are accurate and free from error and are up to date. Contribute to implementing and monitoring that adequate systems and controls are in place. Business partnering with all departments and providing support where necessary.
Responsibilities include;
* Daily recording of bank receipts & payments
* Reconciliation of bank accounts including foreign currency bank accounts
* Responsible for the purchase order process including creating and sending purchase orders to suppliers.
* Matching good receipts and deliveries to PO’s and investigating where necessary
* Processing of purchase invoices
* Supplier statement reconciliations
* Dealing with supplier queries
* Processing of customer sales invoices
* Credit control, including chasing of debts.
* Reconciliation and postings of expense claims
* Posting of journal entries
* Assisting with the month end reporting
* Updating and reconciliation of the fixed asset register
* Assist with the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
* Assist in preparing the VAT returns.
* Assist with the production of monthly payroll.
* Support the finance manager in any other tasks as reasonably required.
Desired skills;
* Previous experience of working in a similar finance/account’s role
* AAT or equivalent (desired)
* Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment (desired)
* Previous experience of Xero (desired)
