Residential Duty Warden

Think FE are working with Fleetwood Nautical Campus in Lancashire to find a patient, calm and empathetic Residential Duty Warden to look after the student accommodation for their students.

This is a really unique role where you will only work approximately 2/3 of the year but will be paid for the whole year. 

This job will suit a caring individual with experience with young people. We want someone who students can feel comfortable coming to and who is a good listener. Any background will be considered if have the right attitude. 
  
Salary: £24,803 - £26,131 per annum
Contract: Permanent, working ICI European Shift Rota (6-6 some days, some nights). No lone working at night
Benefits: Exciting ICI European Shift Rota that will provide you with blocks of 19 days off every 6-8 weeks as well as more regular 4 days off. Ideal for someone who loves travelling!
  
Key Responsibilities

Documenting health and safety or the premises and ensuring student welfare is up to standards
Keep written records of any incidents while using appropriate procedures
Attend and supervise meetings with students (e.g. showing them their rooms, making sure they are happy, helping them with enquiries, conducting disciplinary action)
Conduct fire drills
Basic maintenance such as light bulbs and putting up shelves    
Requirements

We are looking for someone who is patient, calm, empathetic, good listener who the students can come up to comfortably to discuss any of their needs
Desirable: Background in social care or residential care
Experience working with children or young adults
Good computing skills
Ability to do basic maintenance, if you can put up a shelf you will be fine
Desirable: Be aware of National Minimum standards for under 18 students
