The Role:
As a Transport Planner, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our clients transport division, ensuring the smooth and cost-effective movement of goods across the UK. Working closely with drivers, customers, and the logistics team, you will be responsible for planning routes, managing schedules, and maximising fleet efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

* Efficiently plan and optimise daily transport routes, ensuring timely deliveries and collections.

* Liaise with drivers and provide clear instructions, ensuring full compliance with safety and legal requirements.

* Monitor live transport operations, adjusting plans in real time to address delays, breakdowns, or changes.

* Communicate with customers to confirm booking details, delivery windows, and address any service queries.

* Coordinate with internal teams to manage fleet capacity, fuel efficiency, and load distribution.

* Use transport management software (TMS) to track, schedule, and report on operational performance.

* Ensure full compliance with industry regulations, including driver hours, tachographs, and vehicle maintenance.

What We’re Looking For:

* Experience in transport planning, ideally within the haulage or logistics sector.

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.

* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.

* Clear communication skills – both written and verbal – to coordinate effectively with drivers and customers.

* Proficiency in Transport Management Systems (TMS) and MS Office (Excel, Word).

* Knowledge of driver regulations, vehicle routing, and haulage compliance standards.

* A proactive, can-do attitude and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
