Broadwood School is a specialist setting set in the idyllic hills of Halifax with provision to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. Through targeted interventions such as Lego Therapy, Drawing and Talking and Speech and Language, we aim to encourage pupils to develop their skills around self-regulation, managing emotions and effective communication.

Broadwood School is on a journey to becoming a Trauma Informed School, where we consider the external factors which can lead to contextually inappropriate behaviours. We put our KS1 to KS5 pupils at the centre of how we work and have created a school that is welcoming, caring, safe, nurturing and warm. We see strong relationships with our children and young people, parents, carers and the wider community as the key to our success.

We develop our pupils' social and emotional resilience by having clear boundaries which pupils are supported to thrive within. The school uses a restorative approach to conflict which allows pupils to quickly reintegrate into their learning. Within newly introduced nurturing room, we have a variety of methodical approaches to help calm students down from Lego Therapy to our sensory sandpit.

Please note we reserve the right to close the vacancy early should we receive a significant number of suitable applications.

Keys Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of everyone in our care. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, suitable employment references and online searches to safeguard our young people.
