Contracts Manager, Commercial Soft Landscaping

Salary £48,000 to £53,000 + Vehicle & Package

The Company:

You will be a pivotal part of a successful team in this industry leading company, and as Contracts Manager you have a central role in the ongoing success of the organisation and the creation of landscaping schemes that are the “icing on the cake” for new build, housing developments and commercial clients. The company’s extensive experience enables them to efficiently complete schemes from the smallest to the largest, commercial, multi-phase projects.

The Job:

You will manage multiple teams, both employed and sub-contractors on a number of Commercial Landscaping sites across London. These are often associated with new build housing developments and will include both soft and hard elements. It’s important that you have a good understanding of both the horticultural and construction sides of your projects.

The Contracts Manager is responsible for;

* Ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the contract specification

* Ensuring that the companies quality standards are maintained

* Management of weekly invoicing including control of contract variations from quotation to invoice.

* Procurement of materials and any subcontracted works to within the forecasted budget.

* Liaising with the client, maintaining good relations and ensuring that any agreed remedials are completed to the client’s satisfaction

* Responsibility for the departments financial performance including resource scheduling and procurement

* Pre-mobilisation site inspection and survey including risk assessments and site-specific instructions

* Ensuring that all project sites comply with all aspects of the current health and safety regulations

* Day to day responsibility for the operational team, including appraisals and inductions

The Person:

You will currently be working as a Landscaping Contracts Manager and have at least 3 years’ experience.

* Extensive landscaping experience and knowledge of both horticulture and construction.

* An effective Team Leader with demonstrable operations management experience

* Professional, proactive and assertive in your approach, with excellent Influencing and Communication skills

* Good contractual awareness including experience of managing works in accordance with most forms of contract.

* Commercial acumen including accurate cost control, efficient procurement, production of timely valuations, pricing of variations and compensation events.

* An understanding of the practical, technical, financial and qualitative requirements of a project.

* CSCS Card

* SSSTS or SMSTS

* Understand Health and Safety compliance / ISOH Regulations

* Full UK driving licence
