Role Description
As a WordPress Developer, you will design, create, and maintain visually engaging and functional websites and web pages. You will ensure that the websites align with our brand identity and meet the needs of our users. Your role will involve design and front-end development tasks, providing a seamless user experience across all devices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain visually appealing and responsive WordPress websites.
* Create and implement WordPress themes and plugins.
* Ensure WordPress site content aligns with brand guidelines and marketing objectives.
* Implement and refine website designs.
* Customise and enhance WordPress themes and plugins.
* Optimise WordPress sites for speed, performance, and SEO best practices.
* Conduct regular updates, backups, and maintenance of WordPress sites to ensure security and functionality
* Stay up-to-date with web design trends, tools, and technologies.
* Conduct user research and testing to gather feedback and improve website design and functionality.
* Manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
Experience and Skills
Essential
• Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a WordPress Web Designer or Developer.
• Extensive experience with WordPress, including theme and plugin development.
• Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices within the WordPress ecosystem.
• Creation of commercial websites using WordPress.
• Knowledge of SEO principles and best practices.
• Excellent visual design skills with a strong portfolio of previous work.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Desirable
• Extensive experience with WordPress CMS, including custom theme and plugin development.
• Familiarity with web design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), Sketch, Figma, or similar.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with responsive and adaptive design.
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress.
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation.
• Basic knowledge of server-side languages such as PHP, Python, or Ruby.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git
