About the Role:
Simply Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a NAS accredited specialist team at a highly respected independent special day school. This role is integral in creating better outcomes and enhancing life chances for students aged 6 to 19 who have a range of MLD and SLD needs, including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and associated difficulties. Many students also have complex medical needs and sensory/physical impairments. The ideal candidate will support students in managing sensory overload, anxiety, low self-esteem, low confidence, and difficulties with transitions, often demonstrated through behaviours.

Role Responsibilities:
• Support students with their learning, development, and progress across all areas of the curriculum in various settings, including classrooms, local environments, and the community
• Assist young people with a range of needs, including PMLD, complex medical conditions, and autism, to achieve their educational and personal goals
• Foster an environment that promotes equality, diversity, and the rights of all young people to be recognized as learners and treated with respect
• Emphasize support and empowerment of young people
• Develop a deeper understanding of Special Education issues and the values of Simply Education, demonstrating these in all aspects of the role
• Provide high-quality support in all facets of the role
• Participate in physical interventions and personal care routines as required
