The Role

This a unique and varied role, working as a senior member of a small team, not just looking after the day to day quality of the production, but also being the technical lead and driving the R&D activities of the business. This is both an analytical and hands on role, where in the same day you may be using lab equipment to measure and test samples, producing test samples by hand to provide to clients for evaluation and being on the shop floor ensuring quality standards are maintained. It’s a fantastic opportunity to do a varied role where you will add significant value to the day to day business success.

This position is available due to the retirement of the current employee and so there will be a rare opportunity to enjoy a handover and training period.

The Company

A well established market leader, our Client is a coated technical textiles specialist with expertise in coating and combining fabrics for bespoke, high performance technical applications. They can apply a diverse range of coatings which are designed to alter and enhance the technical performance of fabrics.

The ideal Person

The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys working with the production and shop floor teams in a manufacturing business, is happy to spend time working in the laboratory environment conducting tests and R&D, who can be hands on and also very detailed and process orientated. It would be highly advantageous to have either an education of some background in chemistry, rubber technology or textiles.

* Degree / Higher Education / On the Job learning in Chemistry or equivalent

* Experience of lab work – textiles and/or chemicals

* Be able to prioritise workload

Hours: 4 day week (Mon – Thu) 07:00 – 16:45, with some flexibility
