Length – 6+ month ongoing contract

Job Purpose:

To lead on the delivery of the Council’s electric and shared mobility programme, with a particular focus on the development, implementation, monitoring and review of policies and projects relating to the roll-out of electric vehicle charge point infrastructure, cycle hire schemes and car club operations in Brent, in line with the Council’s transport, planning and environmental priorities and objectives

Knowledge:

* Comprehensive understanding of current issues and developments affecting transport, planning, the environment and local government in London.

* Comprehensive understanding of main central government, Mayoral and borough plans and policy issues relating to sustainable transport and planning - in particular around electric vehicle charging infrastructure and shared mobility services.

* Comprehensive understanding of relevant transport, highways and planning legislation and good appreciation of related legislation including local government and procurement legislation.

* Good knowledge of sustainable transport and highways and public realm scheme design principles, in particular the interface between different road users.

* Good level of political awareness and knowledge of the operation of local government
