Mechanical Engineer

Our leading manufacturing client in the Huntingdonshire area are looking for a dynamic Mechanical Engineer to join their team. This is a permanent position for a great company. The work will be very varied from maintenance, design, cost saving, time saving, NPD and NPI projects etc. If you are a hands-on Mechanical Engineer, this post could be perfect for you.

As a Mechanical Engineer you will:

* Identify, install and commission new plant and equipment to meet the businesses changing product and process needs.

* Drive process and component quality improvements to improve manufacturing FTPR (First Time Pass Rate).

* Assessment of components and processes to identify causes of failure and feedback into Engineering, Manufacturing and to Suppliers

* Support NPD/NPI projects.

* Support improvements of internal process yield and external quality PPM by the design and implementation of tooling, jigs, fixtures, test equipment and improved processes.

* Drive Lean Manufacturing principles.

* Lead Manufacturing Engineering projects as required.

* Support change initiatives in manufacturing.

The Mechanical Engineer Experience will include:

* 3+ years in a manufacturing/operations/engineering role

* A demonstrated ability to design and create mechanical solutions.

* Evidence of excellent practical skills, including basic fault finding.

* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles

* An understanding of electrical engineering principles and/or electronics would be beneficial.

Hours of work for the Mechanical Engineer Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5.30pm Friday 8.30am to 2.00pm (37.5 hours)
