Job Title: School Caretaker - General Grounds and Maintenance

Location: East London Area

Are you a dedicated and skilled individual looking for a rewarding role in maintaining the grounds and facilities of a school? We are currently seeking reliable and experienced School Caretakers to join our schools in the east london area. This is a full-time position, offering 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

Perform general grounds maintenance tasks including grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding, and planting.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the school premises, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as fixing leaky faucets, changing light bulbs, and painting.
Carry out inspections and regular checks on equipment and facilities, reporting any defects or issues to the appropriate authorities.
Assist with setting up and dismantling equipment and furniture for school events, assemblies, and meetings.
Support the school community by being available for any ad-hoc handyman tasks that may arise.Requirements:

Proven experience in general grounds maintenance, preferably in a school or similar setting.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations related to grounds maintenance and general maintenance work.
Ability to operate a range of gardening tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
Basic repair and maintenance skills, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and external contractors.
