Main Purpose: To oversee and provide a needs led service to adults with a learning disability. To provide strategic support to the home, setting up and creating care delivery plans, completing risk assessments and ensuring CQC standards are met. You will be responsible for spot checks, supervision, reviews and assessments on all Residential Care Provision.

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

NVQ Level 4 in Care or (or equivalent qualification) and/or relevant experience

Leadership and Management

Experience of working with relevant client group

Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and listen efficiently

Satisfactory DBS Check and check against ISA Barring list (where applicable)

Full Driving License

Pervious supervisory experience

A clear and thorough knowledge of the CQC standards

Excellent spoken and written English skills

computer literate

Main Responsibilities

Provide effective supervision to the Support Workers in all aspects of their work, to be completed monthly.

Arrange/participate in Staff meetings on a monthly basis and ensure that an agenda is generated and minutes issued to Head Office.

Updating and maintaining staff training files, with support from head office

Support staff with report writing, incidents, daily logs etc

Completing weekly updates every Monday and issuing to Head Office

Rota’s to be completed on a weekly basis and shared with Aman and Head office.

Medication and Petty Cash audits

Weekly Handover

Provide leadership to the team acting as a positive role model at all times.

Lead the home/service, ensuring staff give support that follows individual’s care plans and daily support plans.

Provide / arrange adequate on call cover, working within on call guidance.

Ensure good team working.

Motivate, support and mentor the staff when needed.

At each shift ensure staff complete all necessary paperwork to an acceptable standard and sign off.

Support

Provide all relevant information to current and prospective service users as required by the CQC Essential Standards.

Arrange for introductory visits and meetings to enable prospective service users make informed choices and decisions about the home’s suitability.

Decide whether or not the home is able to meet the personal care needs of prospective service users.

Negotiate appropriate fees with purchasing authorities or service users or their families as appropriate.

Provide all service users with written terms and conditions of residence and to make sure that they understand them.

Make adequate arrangements for the introduction and reception of new service users.

Investigate complaints, take appropriate action and report to the person-in-control and/or the CQC.

Address comprehensively service users’ cultural, emotional, nutritional, social, spiritual, physical, health medical, material and other needs by developing and maintaining the appropriate policies, systems, procedures and practices.

To oversee the development of person centred planning, ensuring each individual’s plan has meaningful and achievable goals.

To support people through the transition process.

To attend reviews and multi disciplinary meetings.

Work in partnership with care managers and other professionals to maximise quality of life for individuals.

Develop positive relationships with family and carers.

Work in line with the company’s Safeguarding Service Users from Abuse and Whistle Blowing Policy to ensure that people are kept safe at all times.

At all times to work within equal opportunities policy and procedure.

Ensure risk assessments are actioned as necessary, in line with policies and procedures.

Key worker duties for monthly reports

Finances

Person Centred Plans

Health Action Plans

To be flexible and responsive at all times to meet the changing needs of the service and the service users, inclusive of but not limited to:

To assist with any household duties

To ensure the cleanliness of the service is maintained at all times

To ensure the service is sufficiently maintained

Administer medication in line with the policy and the individual’s care plans

Organise and support service user holidays in line with the policy
