Manufacturing Engineer / Process Engineer

Ourclient are a well established manufacturer based in Burntwood

Due to continued success they require a Process Engineer to join their team

Main Duties

To carry out all engineering duties to ensure the successful implementation of new products into production – including all technical outputs, DFM, PFMEA’s, drawings, Work Instructions, Work Standard Sheets, BOMs & costings as well as production jigs and fixtures and the training in the use there of.

To provide technical support to production in the maintenance and improvement of quality and production efficiency

To provide technical support to production in the implementation and set-up of new machinery / technologies and ongoing manufacture

To provide technical support to purchasing in the sourcing and development of sub-contract manufacturers.

To ensure that all technical files are maintained in line with CE & Medical Device regulatory requirements & ISO 13485 and that current guidelines are being adhered to within Operations.

To provide support to the design team during R&D phases of new product realization, including DFMEA, UFMEA

To carry out product testing prior to market launch to ensure all safety and quality requirements are met and required SOP, training and processes have been installed within Operations.

Develop and implement engineering / process changes within Medical Device ISO 13485 / CE & Medical Device Regulatory requirements and provide change information and documentation to Operations

Make extensive use of formal CI tools to identify route causes against safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics within Operations and design, implement, and monitor required improvements

Continual focus on process improvement / cost saving activities in relation to X-matrix Annual Objectives, Improvement Initiatives, and Improvement Targets

Support other sites technical issues / product transfer / product integration, both remotely and on site as required.

MANDATORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Observe at all times the business code of conduct

Perform role in accordance with all relevant quality standards and adhere to all relevant processes / policies within the QMS.

Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety / Environmental and Welfare requirements.

Ensure general housekeeping requirements are adhered to.

SUPPLEMENTAL NOTES:

The job holder must be able to travel to other sites for business requirements

The job holder will be involved in the upskilling / training other Associates across other functions of the business

The Associate may be required to undertake other duties which may be necessary as and when required to fulfil business needs

The job holder should be self-motivated and able to work in a demanding team environment working with colleagues

DESIRED

Education & Qualifications:

* Min 3rd level qualification in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering

* Continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing training

Job Specific Training:

* Ability to read engineering drawings

* Full understanding of geometric tolerancing

Experience:

* Demonstrate working experience of 3D CAD modelling, software, and MRP/ERP systems.

* Min 2 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Engineering environment.

* Min 2 years of Lean deployment, installation, and infrastructure changes

* A thorough understanding and demonstrable experience of manufacturing process including aluminum, titanium, and carbon fabrication processes.

* Experience in Electro-static Powder Coating and Water cooled Tig Welding

* Min 5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Engineering environment

Equipment Skills:

* Excellent computer skills, MS Office products, Solid Works
