Central is currently recruiting for a Team Leader, to work in the Wandsworth area. The service is an 8 bed shared house providing accommodation to individuals addressing their drug/alcohol use. The service provides high support to people rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping to help reduce harm and develop the necessary life skills to move-on and live independently.

The successful candidate will be required to work 35 hours per week, working across Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM. Some flexibility is required to work outside these hours on occasion. Temporary cover is required for approximately 3 months. The pay rate for this role is £17.86 per hour, with £2.78 holiday pay, totalling £20.64 per hour.

In this position, you will be responsible for the following:

* Manage 6 Housing Support Workers, Concierge, Relief Staff & Volunteers; providing effective line management, supervision, training and development opportunities, overseeing staff recruitment and rota management

* Work with the Service Manager to facilitate effective team communication and the smooth running of the service and team

* Liaise with all Borough based partners to maintain and strengthen partnership working for the service, provide service updates, training and monitor referral pathways for those accessing treatment

* Enable all Housing Support Workers to effectively manage their caseloads; through proactive engagement, caseload monitoring, auditing and managing caseload capacity using key working and care coordination approaches ensuring that workers liaise with the treatment service to develop joint support plans

* Identify and support staff members with any safeguarding issues with Service Users

* Incident reporting and investigations of low level and Serious Incidents (including death reports)

* Assist the Service Manager with housing management issues such as rent collecting and reporting, housing benefit claims, reporting of maintenance issues, licence and AST agreements

* Contribute to Contract Monitoring Meetings and provide information and data on service provision as required

* Ensure clients are advised and adhere to the conditions of their tenancy agreement and house rules, taking action when breaches, disputes or complaints arise

* Maximise rental income through proactive void management, lettings & rent collection

* Attend, participate and update partners, staff and Manager of local and organisational meetings, e.g. housing provider forum, landlord forum, etc

* Work closely with the boroughs substance use treatment providers as per joint working protocol

To apply for this role, you must have;

* Experience managing teams within Housing/Health and Social Care

* Experience working within substance misuse services and/or supported housing services

* Experience providing 1:1 supervisions, appraisals and support for staffing team

* Understanding of the need for, and the ability to deliver quality services

* Thorough understanding of relevant legislations and experience of translating into practice

* Enhanced understanding of Safeguarding and how this translates into practice in housing and substance misuse services

* Ability to critically reflect and evaluate interventions and service delivery, identifying areas for development

* Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with a range of stakeholders and professionals including commissioners

* High standard of administrative, analytical, recording and reporting skills

* High case management skills and the ability to model good practice

Further requirements:

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:

* Current valid right to work in the UK

* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)

* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50)

* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
