Our client is a long-established manufacturer of valves for the Oil, Gas and Processing industries, operating from modern offices near Huddersfield. The company is looking to employ an additional Design Engineer to join their dedicated mechanical engineering team. The role will involve new valve design as well as modification to existing designs by way of product improvement and cost down exercises utilising 3D and 2D CAD. 
 
Mechanical Design Engineer - Role and Responsibilities - Design Engineer, Pressure Vessels, Valves, ASME, API, Mechanical Engineering

* Preparation of General Assembly and manufacturing drawings
* Bills of materials within the company's MRP system
* Installation, operational and maintenance manual design
* Design and development of new and existing valve products to meet both industry and customer specific specifications typically to ASME VIII, ASME B16.34, ASME B16.5, API 6A, 6D Design codes
* Assisting in day to day trouble shooting and problem solving with regard to product performance
* Valve factory test procedures

Mechanical Design Engineer - Skills and Abilities - Design Engineer, Pressure Vessels, Valves, ASME, API, Mechanical Engineering

* Broad knowledge and experience in valve design (preferred, but training can be given to those who meet the other criteria)
* Understanding of drawing standards commonly used in mechanical engineering
* Excellent skills in working with 2D and 3D drawing packages
* Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
* Demonstrated ability to work well within a team
* Strong mathematical and analytical skills
* Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering

The new position is ideal for a motivated candidate with a desire to enhance their engineering skills within the design department. Experience of pressure vessel / valve design is preferable but not mandatory as training will be given to the right candidate. If this appeals please do apply now!
