We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual who is passionate about supporting the smooth running of science laboratories and ensuring students thrive in their practical lessons.

As a Science Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the science department, providing invaluable assistance to both teachers and students. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in science and laboratory work, who is looking to contribute to the success of young people in education.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, organise, and maintain equipment and materials for practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Assist teaching staff with the setting up and dismantling of laboratory equipment for experiments
Ensure that health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to, including the proper handling and disposal of chemicals
Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues promptly
Support students during practical sessions, ensuring they have the necessary materials and understand safety protocols
Maintain an organised inventory of laboratory equipment and chemicals
Contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the science department as a wholeThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience working as a Science Technician in a school or laboratory environment
Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and health and safety regulations
A proactive and organised approach to work
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
