About the Client
My client, a leading distributor in their field are looking for a Credit Controller to cover a 12 month maternity cover
Location: Office based, Stopsley, Luton, LU2 8DL
Hours: 8.30am – 5.00pm 1 hr Lunch
Immediate start, Credit Controller reporting into the Financial Controller
About the Role
As Credit Controller, responsibilities include:
* Checking customer’s credit and approving or denying it
* Posting customer receipts onto ERP system
* Taking card payments over the phone
* Negotiating payment plans and setting up terms and conditions
* Setting up repayments and working with Debt Counsellors
* Ensuring customers pay on time and charge them for overdue invoices
* Starting legal proceedings if clients do not pay their debts on time
* Liaising with Solicitors and Bailiffs
* Maintaining accurate records
* Assisting with any reporting and processes required for month and year end
* Working to company policies and procedures
About You
Are you an experienced Credit Controller, with the following skills and qualities?
* Previous experience working in credit control (2+ years)
* Good experience of ERP systems and proficient in use of Microsoft modules Excel, Word
* Strong data entry and administrative background
* Excellent customer service
* Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
* High attention to detail, input accuracy and analytical skills
* Ability to listen to and negotiate with customers
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to work to deadlines
* Persistent, enthusiastic, and determined
* Ability to work well in a team environment
