Our client is Looking for experienced OTs with previous UK and NHS experience from band 5 level to band 8 our clients provide comprehensive care across London with over 8,200 staff serving nearly one million people. Major facilities known for their top-rated hyper-acute stroke unit and a leading centre for bowel disease. Trust is dedicated to clinical excellence, education, and research.
Main Duties:
Rotation Involvement:
• Neuro Outliers
• Hyperacute Stroke
• Stroke Rehabilitation
• RHRU (Regional Neuro Rehab Unit)
• Stroke Early Supported Discharge Team - south east london
Service Commitment:
• Participate in 7-day services with scheduled rest days.
Patient Care:
• Deliver high-quality occupational therapy services to stroke patients across different stages of their recovery.
Collaboration:
• Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to develop and implement patient care plans.
Clinical Responsibilities:
• Apply clinical reasoning and evidence-based practices to assess and treat patients.
• Utilize therapy adjuncts relevant to neuro-OT, including wheelchair prescription and cognitive assessments.
Development and Training:
• Engage in ongoing professional development.
• Potentially contribute as a clinical educator or mentor for students and junior staff.
Qualifications:
Essential:
• Degree in Occupational Therapy (OT)
• Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
Desirable:
• Postgraduate courses specific to neurology
• Membership in Specialist Society of Neuro-Physiotherapists
Experience:
Essential:
• Minimum of 2 years' experience at Band 5 level, including neuro-OT experience
• NHS experience
Desirable:
• Experience with therapy adjuncts for neuro-OT
• Experience in clinical audit
• Experience in taking students or teaching roles
Skills:
Essential:
• High standard of communication within MDT settings
• Evidence of clinical reasoning and effective treatment planning
