GSL Education is seeking a committed Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in West Hull. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young children while contributing to a nurturing and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant in Hull, you will:

Morning Support: Provide personalised assistance to students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, including ADHD and self-harming behaviours.
Inclusive Learning: Create a welcoming, inclusive classroom for students of all backgrounds and abilities.
Nappy Changing: Assist with nappy changing, ensuring compassionate care for young children as required.
Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement targeted support plans tailored to each child’s unique needs.
Afternoon Flexibility: Support Key Stages 1 and 2 as needed, helping with various age groups and developmental stages.
Positive Relationships: Build strong, nurturing relationships with students to foster their confidence and holistic development.

Requirements for the Role

Experience: Previous experience as a Nursery or Early Years Teaching Assistant, or in a similar educational support role, is preferred.
Proactivity and Resilience: A proactive, adaptable, and resilient attitude with a commitment to helping pupils achieve their potential.
Specialist Knowledge: A good understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN), safeguarding, and child protection practices.
Team Player: Able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work independently when needed.
