Our client specialise in maximising the service performance of process plant and equipment, used to convey, store or process bulk solid materials within utilities, primary manufacturing and process industries. The company’s service offering consists of a package of design, manufacture, protection and site installation of process plant equipment. Performing to international standards of best practice with regard to quality control, environmental and health & safety, the company align themselves to the expectations of their valued customer base of internationally recognised OEMs, EPC contractors and end users, many of whom are PLC’s operating on a global basis.
The Requirement
The company is looking to appoint a high calibre commercially focused UK Sales Manager. It’s a time of real growth and a great opportunity for someone to be part of helping to lead this positive change.
Core Role & Responsibilities
Key elements of this leadership role will entail:
* Working closely with the Sales Director on strategic revenue growth and helping to make this happen
* Planning, managing and interaction with both existing and new customer accounts within the marketplace
* Improving, enhancing and modernising the company’s sales processes and procedures
* Visiting customers on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to assess customer requirements and possible short, medium and long-term opportunities
* Demonstrate the technical capability and advantages of the solutions and services offered to potential customers
* Promote both up and cross selling benefits and functions to all customer accounts
* Assist with after sales and service queries, investigate customers CAR's and ensure that they are dealt with to the customers satisfaction
Expertise & Fit
* Proven sales experience “heavy industrial markets” i.e. bulk equipment handling and / or process industry environments
* A commercially focused person, who is currently someone that is likely to be a Business Development Manager or Sales Manager
* Sales Manager career experience to date within industrial engineering companies, manufacturing or services – ideally currently based in the West Midlands or near to
* Someone with an engineering mindset, with manufacturing industry knowledge, that is able to talk knowledgably and credibly with staff and the target customer base
* Culturally, a strong fit with the size of business and nature of the environment
* A Sales Manager that will roll their sleeves up, be hands, visible and invested in the future
* A “blue sky thinker”, that is positive, driven and able to work well with the Directors
* Excellent all round communication skills, able to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, from all members of staff through to key customers
